HOPE HILL LAVENDER FARM – A PEACEFUL ESCAPE
Ever since I saw pictures of the lavender fields from Provence, I knew I wanted to see them in person, and I eventually did. My trip to France in search of the lavender fields made me literally fall in love with the acres of purple I found there. Later I learned, that lavender is not just a French thing, and you can find it here in the USA too, even in Pennsylvania.
Of course, a small farm is not the same as vast fields in the French countryside, but I am glad I took a trip to Hope Hill, and I truly enjoyed my visit there.

What I like about Hope Hill Lavender Farm
The lavender areas area small but charming
You can’t go wrong with lavender, even if the area is rather small. You will still get to enjoy the beauty of the plant and the air filled with its fragrance.

Calming scenery
Sometimes, you just need a break from your daily life in a peaceful environment, and you will find just that at Hope Hill Lavender Farm. The views of gently rolling hills will please your eyes and soul.

You can visit the farm for free.
You can take a tour of Hope Hill for $5 per person, but other than that, your visit is free. It seems that the farm keeps its low profile on purpose, giving its visitors a chance to enjoy the farm and scenery without breaking their budget. It is definitely a plus for larger families to enjoy outing without any expense.

No crowds
The low key advertisement allows the farm to keep the crowds under control. I visited on a beautiful sunny day in the peak of blooming seasons. I arrived at about noon, and to my surprise, only a few people were there. Around 3 pm, more families show up, but social distancing was still easy to achieve.
Safe for children
The area is small enough for adults to relax while kids enjoy their freedom by wandering around on their own. The ground is leveled and easy to navigate.

Shaded areas are provided to escape the heat.
After walking among rows of lavender, you will certainly appreciate the shaded areas. You can escape the heat under the pavilion or at a large picking table shaded for the most part of the day.

Hope Hill Lavender Farm is the perfect location for a photo session.
Since the farm is not crowded, you can have a successful photo session even during regular opening hours. Lavender provides a perfect background for photography.

Hope Hill Lavender Farm Gift Shop
The farm grows its own organic lavender and sells handcrafted lavender products in its gift shop. (You can also shop online here.) The store features handmade bath and body products, cleaning supplies, home products, essential oils, honey, and cooking products.

What surprised me at the farm
Let me remind you, I saw the iconic lavender fields of Provance, and that means the best of the best. For that reason, I was afraid that I would be very disappointed with my visit to Hope Hill, but I genuinely enjoy my visit.
